Paleo Thyroid Solution – Podcast Interview with Elle Russ
Thursday Dec 15, 2016
Thursday Dec 15, 2016
To many, the thyroid is a mystery, but The Paleo Thyroid Solution aims to fix that.
Elle Russ, is the author The Paleo Thyroid Solution. She is a health and life coach, and the host of the Primal Blueprint Podcast.
Elle wrote The Paleo Thyroid Solution after consulting with over two dozen doctors. She worked with endocrinologists, internal medicine specialists, and general practice MDs, but her thyroid condition was only getting worse. Nothing from her doctors resembled a solution, or even hope.
Elle took control of her own health and resolved two severe bouts of hypothyroidism on her own – including an acute Reverse T3 problem. Through a devoted paleo/primal lifestyle, intensive personal experimentation, and a radically modified approach to thyroid hormone replacement therapy. Elle went from fat, foggy, and fatigued to fit, focused, and full of life!
Elle has a B.A in Philosophy from The University of California at Santa Cruz and is a certified Primal Health Coach. She is on the advisory board of The Primal Health Coach Program created by Mark Sisson, bestselling author of The Primal Blueprint. Originally from downtown Chicago, Elle is now based in Malibu, California.
For more information on Elle, and her coaching, visit ElleRuss.com.

Kelly Coffey on the Eat Well, Move Well Podcast
Thursday Aug 11, 2016
Thursday Aug 11, 2016
Our guest today is our friend, personal trainer and self-sabotage slayer…
Kelly Coffey of Strong Coffey & Reality-Based Wellness
We met Kelly Coffey at the Fitness Summit in Kansas City, and immediately fell in love with her and her incredible story. Kelly is an inner world investigator, realistic, open and often brutally honest about our deepest, darkest places that keep us from being loving, caring and kind toward ourselves.
Kelly has spent the last 10 years healing herself and reaching out to other women who want to go from self-abuse, self-sabotage, self-criticism, addiction, compulsion, rage, shame, obesity, self-obsession, extremism, and questionable fashion choices to being grounded in loving self-care and healthy habits.
Kelly helps women connect with their bodies, their souls, and inner voices. She teaches them to talk back to the voices of self-sabotage and shame. …and to tell them to STOP!
We could not be more excited than now to have Kelly as a guest.

Something to listen to while walking!
As always, we love to give you ways to spend quality time walking, and this week is no different!
Head over to Audible, for your free book and 30 day free trial – Audibletrial.com/EatWellMoveWell, then look for this episode’s suggested book, Move Your DNA, by Katy Bowman
Buried under “You Are What You Eat” headlines is another perspective supported by the latest research: You are, actually, how you move.
Move Your DNA explains the science behind our need for natural movement – right down to the cellular level. It examines the differences between the movements in a typical hunter-gatherer’s life and the movements in our own. It shows the many problems with using exercise like movement vitamins instead of addressing the deeper issue of a poor movement diet.
Best of all, Move Your DNA contains the corrective exercises, habit modifications, and simple lifestyle changes we need to make in order to free ourselves from disease and discover our naturally healthy, reflex driven selves.
The “movement is not optional” argument is so convincing, this audiobook was designed to be listed to while walking – each chapter listing the mileage for that section. An average walker will complete 20 miles while listening!
This episode’s actions
1. Take off your shoes and walk on some different surfaces. Enjoy the feeling of pebbles, grass, dirt, sand, or even that icky stuff that Katy talked about on the show. …yuuuuck…
2. Pickup Katy’s new book, Whole Body Barefoot and start reading!
Enjoy!

This week we suggest Catching Fire: How Cooking Make Us Human
Once our hominid ancestors began cooking their food, the human digestive tract shrank and the brain grew. Time once spent chewing tough raw food could be sued instead to hunt and to tend camp. Cooking became the basis for pair bonding and marriage, created the household, and even led to a sexual division of labor. Tracing the contemporary implications of our ancestors’ diets, Catching Fire sheds new light on how we came to be the social, intelligent, and sexual species we are today.
We both loved this book, and we hope you do, too!
This episode’s action
Find a cookbook that you were inspired enough to buy, but then set aside.
Read through it, and pick at least one new recipe to make this week. Inspired? Make two!
Enjoy!
