Roland joins Jimmy Moore, Dietitian Cassie, and Evan Brand
Hi, Roland here.
Galya’s off in Bulgaria, and it’s been hard to fit in a podcast with the crazy schedules and time difference. In the meantime, I got to sit in with Jimmy Moore, Cassie ‘Dietitian Cassie” Bjork, and Evan Brand on Low Carb Conversations!
It was a lot of fun, and we got to discuss all sorts of cool things, like test tube burgers…
…egg-whites, junk food, the grassfed butter controversy, and more.
I love Jimmy and Cassie’s show, so I was honored to be a guest, especially along side Evan, who’s a veteran podcaster, himself.

‘Unlike a diet, a detox or a flush, The Real Food Reset develops healthy eating habits that become a platform for perfect health for the rest of your life.
No weighing, measuring, or counting required!”
Galina’s MoveWell Studio
Galya’s dream of a calm, serene, beautiful studio in which to train clients has come true, and Orange County California is going to reap the benefits of her healing touch, positive attitude, and motivational spirit.
If you’re in the OC area, you really need to stop by and see her new place, and see what she can do for your health!
MoveWell Studio can be found online at MoveWellStudio.com
…and then
Finally, Roland turns the podcast over to Galina, and she talks about goal setting, and why proper goal setting can help you reach your fitness and fat loss goals.
We hope you enjoy the latest Eat Well, Move Well Podcast! We’ll be back again, soon.
Seriously, it’s been a while… we miss you.

model vs model, liquid a$$, paleo rules, and treadmills drool!
Thank you for your support during last month’s promotional drive!
Now that you’ve had a chance to take a look at the program, would you please take a minute to give us a quick, honest review? Short and sweet is just fine!
Click here to review the book!
Thanks,
Roland and Galya
What did we talk about?
1. Victoria Secret Model vs Fitness Model
2. iPad posture in kids – 7 year old get cervical pain
4. Aromatherapy? Liquid Ass @ liquidass.com
5. Paleo Bashing – A lot of the paleo diet criticism is strawman arguments, and makes for funny headlines. For the record, we agree, and wish the healthy paleo diet had a better name.
Paloefantasy on Amazon.com
Debunking Paleo on TEDx
6. Treadmills and Foot health
Says Restorative Exercise™ Specialist Katy Bowman:
Walk, but STAY OFF THE TREADMILL!
The treadmill is a no-no for anyone with a hip, pelvic floor, psoas, or knee issues. Sounds weird, right? You thought walking was walking? Nope. Ok, fast physics lesson. On this planet, things move forward by:
A) Pushing backward
B) Using A Credit Card
C) Leaning forward, and then falling.
If you guessed “A and C”, then you are correct.

Registered Dietitians, labeling confusion, and more…
What did we talk about? Shopping tour shenanigans, and what’s up with the labels, like natural, organic, fat free, sugar free, low carb, grass-fed, grain-fed, vegetarian fed meats and poultry, and more. Organic vs Natural
What’s the deal with Registered Dietitians? What they learn in school, on the job training, and the need to do your own research and reading, even if you’re an RD, and one RD’s opinion on carbs and sugars for diabetics.
Dirty Dozen, Clean Fifteen – Every year, the Environmental Working Group publishes their ‘dirty dozen’ worst offenders when it comes to pesticides, and their ‘clean fifteen’ which is their list of produce lowest in pesticides. Check out the latest list: Dirty Dozen, Clean Fifteen. This year, it’s the Dirty Dozen, plus! That can’t be good…
We also talked about Movement as a Way of Life vs organized training or planned exercise. Examiner Article
Why it may be better to workout less, not more. Just a little less, don’t go crazy and get all lazy. NY Times

Eat Well, Move Well Podcast #6 – Post 30 Days of Real Food
Tuesday Feb 05, 2013
Tuesday Feb 05, 2013
Plus, talking about ‘alignment,’ and that Coke ad that pisses us off.
Post 30 Days of Real Food – Episode #6 is here, and we talk all about the what happens post 30 Days of Real Food.
Alignment – The Restorative Exercise™ Institute’s Katy Bowman – who writes and teaches about all things alignment.
Gravity, thou art a heartless bitch – My first post about alignment on my personal blog is found here.
We talked a bit about feet, locked kneecaps, plantar fasciitis, and the importance of going barefoot. Check this out, from wikipedia
There’s some interesting info over at this wikipedia page, including ‘Feet that have never worn shoes never exhibit problems such as bunions, corns, and ‘fallen arches’, as well as having a much reduced incidence of problems such as callouses.’
Not that wikipedia is a solid source, and I hope these ideas go more mainstream. The idea that feet need shoes to solve problems is getting old. Shoes are a big part of the problem, not necessarily the solution.
Coca-Cola Commercial – You can find the entire commercial over at HumansAreNotBroken.com/the-coca-cola-solution. Angelo does a great job of breaking down the ad from an advertising guy’s perspective.
